"time in which we are now interested," lecture given by frederick w. franz on february 5, 1975 at the los angeles sports arena in los angeles, california.
this was a special lecture given by fred franz (then vice president of the watchtower society and one of the main theologians of jehovah's witnesses at that time) on the 6,000 year chronology that pointed to the year 1975 as a special year marked in bible prophecy.

Facebook search "Charles Manson" -- now he thinks I'm a friend?
by FatFreek 2005 inno, i haven't really done that one but i've thought of searching for several acquaintances from kingdom halls years ago but not if they become aware that i've looked them up.
i don't want facebook to announce to these folks that "fatfreek wants to be your friend".
i don't want to appear to be boot licking -- i'm simply curious.. as far as i know i'm as anonymous as one can be on facebook but that may be my naivette showing through.. what say you facebookers?.

Violent entertainment and it's effects

It seems to me that someone has a rather incomplete and unrealistic understanding of man's history.
You want violence? You want bloodshed? Go into the past, not the future.
Primitive cultures were violent and they didn't have "entertainment."
Some primitive cultures were cannibalistic - today it's only Canada.
(That's a joke, Canadians. Please don't eat me.)
Primitive war strategy was "kill all the men" at the very least, or "time to make soup" at the far extreme. You don't need "entertainment" to figure out that repeatedly bashing someone on the head with something hard will hurt them.
I'm also not very sure that violent video games teach anyone how to actually handle and maintain a weapon. Do they? None of the ones I've ever played did.
Does playing Grand Theft Auto teach you how to do a proper power slide? Does it even teach you how to drive?

Strange, Offensive , Weird Statements on DFing Offenses in Elders Manual

but an organization like the wt society bent on controlling virtually every aspect of the typical jehovah's witness life - would make this up to keep their control through the use of fear and guilt.
so- i thought i'd share what i thought was the strangest, most offensive, weird language dealing with what the wt society calls " disfellowshipping offenses " .
